Kenneth Ihas
Kenneth Ihas practices primarily in the areas of commercial and insolvency-related litigation. In this context, he routinely acts for shareholders and corporations in business disputes, and for trustees in bankruptcy, creditors and debtors in bankruptcy and realization proceedings. In addition, Mr. Ihas has significant experience with employment and estate disputes.
Mr. Ihas earned a Bachelor of Laws Degree, with distinction, from the University of Alberta and was the recipient of several honours and awards for academic achievement. Prior to establishing Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP, among other things he served as a law clerk to five judges of the British Columbia Supreme Court, as an associate in a major national law firm and as a partner at an established Kelowna law firm. During the course of these roles, he obtained wide-ranging experience representing clients in complex commercial disputes. Mr. Ihas routinely appears as counsel before the British Columbia Courts, the Federal and Tax Courts of Canada and administrative tribunals. He prides himself in tenaciously representing his clients at every stage of the litigation process.
Mr. Ihas is very active in both the legal community and the community at large. He has served on the boards, the executive or other committees for organizations such as the Sunshine Theatre Society, the society which operates the Rotary Centre for the Arts, the Central Okanagan Foundation and the Canadian Bar Association (Okanagan civil Litigation Section). He is also a contributing author to an upcoming Continuing Legal Education Society text on commercial litigation.
