Wendy Thiessen

Wendy is a civil and commercial litigator and has represented clients through a broad range of disputes, including business, contract, construction, lending, and property disputes. Wendy is also experienced in administrative law matters.

Wendy is dedicated to working with her clients to learn their needs and to develop effective strategies. Wendy is an able advocate, providing clear and persuasive representation. She frequently appears in Supreme Court chambers.

Wendy graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 2008, achieving the second highest ranking in her class to earn the George Bligh O’Connor Silver Medal in Law. Wendy then clerked with the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, where she was privileged to learn from the judiciary. She was called to the Alberta bar in 2009.

Prior to moving to Kelowna in 2017, Wendy practiced in civil and commercial litigation at a mid-sized Edmonton firm, and then served as counsel to the Department of Environment with the Government of Alberta, where she advised and represented statutory decision-makers on environmental decisions and appeals. Wendy returned to private practice after moving to Kelowna and has since enjoyed helping individuals and businesses.

When not at work, Wendy can be found chasing her two young children or relishing the fantastic Okanagan outdoors, usually on her bike.
