Taylor-Marie Young

Taylor-Marie Young practices commercial litigation. She represents clients in a variety of commercial matters, including property, contract, and business disputes. Taylor-Marie’s practice demands that she routinely navigate complex contractual disputes. Beyond contract law, she regularly brings and defends a variety of tort claims, commonly including breach of fiduciary duties, negligence, fraud and misrepresentation.

Taylor-Marie’s practice includes civil litigation more generally. She has significant experience in employment, human rights, professional liability, wills and estates, and local government matters. Taylor-Marie has represented clients before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as before various administrative tribunals and regulatory bodies. She appears regularly in chambers before the B.C. Supreme Court.

Taylor-Marie was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2015. She joined Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP after beginning her career articling and as an associate with a leading insurance defence firm in Vancouver. Taylor-Marie is a graduate of Thompson Rivers University and the University of Victoria. She holds a degree in journalism (2008), a Master of Arts in linguistics (2011) and a Juris Doctor in law (2014). As a member of the inaugural class of Thompson Rivers University’s Faculty of Law, Taylor-Marie had the distinct honour of receiving the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medal, having achieved the highest cumulative grade point average over the course of the Juris Doctor program.
