Taylor-Marie Young

Taylor-Marie is a rising litigator in British Columbia, practicing extensively in commercial and civil matters. She is experienced as counsel at all levels of court and various administrative tribunals in the Province, skillfully guiding clients through a wide range of issues, including contract and related conflicts in the business arena, shareholder and other corporate disputes, employment matters, debtor-creditor relations, estate and trust litigation, and challenges with local government and other institutions. She also acts in defence of various professionals, including lawyers.

She has founded her practice on excellence in legal acumen with tailored and client-centred advice as the guiding touchstone. As an advocate, she is agile, incisive, and dedicated to obtaining the best outcome for her clients, whether that be an early exit from the dispute or unflinching advocacy in the courtroom.

She is adept at using strategic foresight to minimize the time, expense, and stress inherent in litigation, recognizing it is a useful tool for resolution only when it is sharpened with precision and pragmatism.

Taylor-Marie is dedicated to the practice of law outside of the confines of the courtroom. She currently sits as Past President of the Kelowna Bar Association. She is a regular contributor to various professional development programs, seminars, and publications, including the CLE Annual Review of Law & Practice. She has also attended as guest lecturer at Thompson Rivers University.

Taylor-Marie joined Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP after practicing with a leading regional firm in Vancouver. She is a graduate of Thompson Rivers University and the University of Victoria, holding a bachelor’s degree in journalism (2008), Master of Arts in linguistics (2011), and a Juris Doctor (2014). She also holds a teaching certificate. As a member of the inaugural class of TRU Law, she had the distinct honour of receiving the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medal, having achieved the highest cumulative grade point average over the course of the Juris Doctor program, amongst other awards and accolades.
