David is an accomplished litigator and the co-founder of Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP. With four decades in the legal profession, he has excelled as an advocate in complex commercial and family litigation. Dave’s tenaciousness and results-oriented approach make him a respected opponent whose client relationships have endured the test of time.

Today, Dave primarily provides legal services as a mediator. He has a depth of knowledge that is also expansive, encompassing shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate transactions, contested estates and trusts, construction, high net-worth spousal disputes, and more.

Dave has undertaken extensive training in the mediation process. His approach is ‘hands on’ and puts his skills, judgment, and strength of personality to effect as a fully engaged mediator known for driving parties to resolution. Dave has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Federal Court of Canada and various regulatory tribunals. He brings this experience before various decision makers to each dispute he mediates.

Dave is also passionate about mentorship. He prides himself on giving the lawyers of Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP the courage, sensibilities, and skills to excel as litigators and members of the bar. Dave has been a committed member of the Kelowna community for many years. He has been extensively involved in various boards and advisory committees, including the City of Kelowna Advisory Planning Commission, as president of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, amongst many others. He also served an appointment as Public Representative on the Board of Directors of the British Columbia College of Licensed Practical Nurses, then the regulator of Licensed Practical Nurses in British Columbia.
