Laurel Hogg practices primarily in the area of family law. In addition to family disputes, Laurel also has significant experience representing clients in a range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including business, employment and intellectual property disputes in the technology, finance and pharmaceutical industries.
Laurel has represented clients before all levels of courts in Ontario and British Columbia. She has extensive trial experience, working on trials before the Superior Court of Ontario, Provincial Court of British Columbia and Federal Court of Canada. Prior to moving to Kelowna and joining Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP, Laurel worked as an associate in Toronto, Ontario at a large national law firm and at a leading litigation boutique.
Laurel is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (J.D.) and Simon Fraser University (B.A.). While at law school Laurel represented clients as a caseworker with the University of Ottawa’s Criminal Law Division and was involved in the University of Ottawa’s Intellectual Property mooting program. Laurel was the recipient at the Fox IP Moot of the Donald F. Sim award for the best oral advocate, the Dimock Stratton LLP award for the best mooter in a non-graduating year (2014) and, in 2015, she was also recognized as one of the top ten oral advocates internationally at the Oxford Intellectual Property Moot.
